Thanks for the advice mate 🙂
No problem 👍
Got this job to do myself soon, thanks for the videos always nice to know what your getting into 👍🏻
No problem 👍
I never purchase copart or privately owned vehicles as there is usually more problems with them than they say there is, i just stick too the insurance ones, and always stick too minimum bid if they counter send offers if its on reserve or approval, i purchased a MK3 2013 Ford Focus, was on reserve my bid was £850, they wanted £1500 for it, thought no way stick too £850, sent 2 counter offers knocking £50 each time but still kept to my bid, they re entered it into auction, i was high bidder again at £525, same thing again stuck to bid, re entered for a 3rd time, high bidder again at £650, same again counter bidded me, stuck too minimum bid and they gave in and let me have it. so sticking too your original bid usually pays off :))
Fully agree, done the same 😊
Great watch as always dave
Is that ulez?
I beleive it is buddy
The driver's front door looks a different colour but might just be dirty lol
Just dirty mate 👍
C car is a private enty, copart cars a Q's
Thanks for clearing that up buddy 👍
Sucks you got stung with a private sale lemon. I only buy private if I have a spare engine/gearbox laying around. Always always always look at additional information and MOT. MOT showed brakes and tyres were bad, picture 15, 16, 17, 18 showed quite bad tyres/brakes and alloys. Additional information showed that "NMR CHECK DISCREPANCY NOT INDICATED", this line is a good indicator that it's private sale, sometimes it'll also say "IT REMAINS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE PRE-PURCHASE INSPECT" on private listings only. Never budge on bids, ignore them and 1-3 days later you'll win or it'll be relisted. Had some relisted and won them even cheaper and got them, had some accept a few days later. You're right with CAT N / S cars being clean, they're so much cleaner compared to unrecorded, I've probably seen 3 tatty N/S cars out of the hundreds I've bidded on. I've annoyingly won S with no structural damage and N with structural damage numerous times, quite frustrating how they write off cars over photos. Tip for newbies. Set your max and do not go over it, use the site calculator to workout max bid with fees and add on 100-300 delivery on top. It's so easy to go over and you'll end up regretting the purchase, or not pay for it and just get banned from the site.
Good to see you back on UA-cam 👍.. where have you been?
Been completely off radar, working hard, going gym, a bit of self work. I'm aiming at producing more content now and going a bit more into detail wotht he salvage work aswell as the old stuff
Well done 👍Keep at it👍
Wise words...indeed...
Thanks Paul 👍
Good job your way does appear to more structurally sound way of doing it.
It 100% is the best imo
Do you have an Instagram?
Davefox280585 😊
Bud how do you rate the buzzweld products. I rate the 182 primer great stuff 😊
Hi Jay, not sure really,2 years down the line and there sligh surface showing in a few places, if I did it again it would be spray sealer method
@@dave280585 hi Dave thanks for the reply so you have some surface rust coming through. What spray sealer method would you use?
Is it for sale
it went a while ago buddy
Do you have any more information on your front indicators. Great design
there ambulance strobe lights from ebay, the pdm does all the control, the issue with them is the indicator is a strobe and took sean who wired it some head scratching as it required a on signal instead of a pulse signal
Sadly you are wrong. I waited for 3hrs to get loaded today. App logged in, paperwork from the office and high visibility gear on…
Well this was during covid, sadly I agree with you. I now cannot get loaded in a 1 hour slot for 1 car taking upto 2 hours, 6 empty jcbs sat usually, I feel your pain
@@dave280585 I offered to hop in and start loading cars for them. There were several empty at Chicago north. That largest lot in the nation
Looking mint mate and great video your looking well ❤
Cheers brother
Good to see you back Dave, hope you're doing ok.
Thank you,its good to be back
All the best from the sunshine state
Looking good Dave 👍🏻
Ur right u are a sexy Northern guy with a fantastic beard. Good tip too.
Missed who you said did the wiring. And which PDM did you go for. Love the multistage buttons, didn't know they did that.
It was wired by St motorsport in Wales, the keypad and pdm are both hardwire and supplied by St motorsport upon wiring. I supplied blinkstop and the ecu. Yeah the multistage is great 👍
Love that mate looks mint.
Thanks buddy 🙂
Hello mate, did you build the underbody wash nozzle yourself?
hey sorry it was purchased from ebay
Thank you for this series. There is no other like it for this issue. Keeping these cars alive.
Bloody hell dave, didn't even know you documented the beast on here, nice work mate can't wait to see it finished mate 👍👍
Hi mate, can I ask where you got the OZ decals for the wheels from for a fiber? Really struggling to find some. Cheers!
@dave280585
they were ebay buddy not sure which seller
I like the boot buttons, nice work!
I wish id done this on my EVO 4. It rusted away after three UK winters
Massive help seeing this and answered lots of questions and doubts I had👍
Looking good 👍 Just found your channel, subbed 👍
Looks mint mate. Ive got a 6 but do prefer the look of the 5. Soo much more aggressive looking
Just fitting Fueltech 550 myself
Hello mate how’s thing shipping car home soon have to pop over and meet you
welcome anytime buddy,kettles always on
Those buttons look loads better than the springs Dave
Thanks Lee, really happy with em
What was the lacquer put on the boot lid with? Ron Jeremy’s arse by looks of it 😂
I see you've never clear coated carbon, they were done with heavy build ready to knock back and reclear, since then moved over to p67s High build, carbon is porous so on brand new panels takes a lot of work
Brilliant idea they look awesome
Cheers Billy ❤️
Class where did you get them thanks Denis from Ireland 🇮🇪
£6 From ebay mate, nothing fancy but do the job,i wouldnt recomend them for a bonnet
@dave280585 thanks that's what i wanted them for
@@denisdelaney4789 id say i wouldnt trust them on a bonnet, for bonnets id fit the aerocatches, dont use the cheap ones either as they just arent the same quality
Nice video Dave nice to see the escort nearly done
Cheers brother, it really is itching now to hear it come alive
@@dave280585 I bet you cart mate it’s been a long time coming you deserve it Back on the road! I cart wait to see and hear it around the village
Looks a beast this Dave , busy boy aren’t ya
I wish I had the time mate
@@dave280585 time is the issue I’m lacking that myself
Nice. I make lots of carbon parts myself for mk1 escorts. Best stuff I've found to use on prepped carbon is mipa p67s clear primer followed by there clear coat for carbon. Fantastic stuff. The primer will fill all pin holes , low spots etc and it's easy to sand back for clear coat
Yes I've been following you Garry, parts look amazing, if I wasn't as far north I'd have fetched these for a small alteration if possible for the cage where I've had to trim. Yes already got the p67s on the shelf as I learnt the hard way clearcoating the rest of the panels, the doors are fairly rough made and I've no idea who made them
@@dave280585 cool mate. As long as the weaves all straight on the doors they should be fine. I normally apply 3 coats of p67s then sand smooth. What needs altering on yours?
@@garrybull6977 the cage has been made too far out,it needed the doors on,i couldnt even fit steel ones back on,had to take a section out of the inner to clear cage, ill sand and go for 3 coats then buddy thank you
@@dave280585 thought the cage normally mounts inline with the B pillar not forward of it. Was it a homemade cage or bought cage? I've used a mk2 cage in mine. Main hoop is about 8" behind B pillar due to engine being set back and seats having to be mounted further back.
@@garrybull6977 it rund right upto the dash, its the outward hoop,it was a custom made to the car, triangulated forward to the bulkhead too, its the outward hes made to give maximum internal space but not accounted for the door inner, its only 5mm as well not a lot
Annoys 50 mark to escort I like the carbon fibre lock the bonnet and the doors are Marcus Haynes and he knows where you can get carbon fibre stuff from my doors and all that lot bonnets boots looks nice. Keep doing the videos of the progress 😅😅😅😮
Nice to have the escort back on the channel , it’s looking great Dave you and the boys are doing fantastic, I can’t wait till it’s on the road , what about anthracite wheel colour then it’s not to much of a black car , anyway thanks again for a top video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
a few have mentioned that, ive got it in my head i want them satin
Love the mk2 as it is dont b painting it❤
Thanks for the update, hope you're well. Missed this channel, it's one of my faves
Love them doors
Thanks Stephen, they'll take some work but will be worth it once done
where did you get the doors from matey?
they were a rare spot on facebook marketplace, ive googled the crap out of trying to find who made them or where they are from and i really do not know
Nice carbon parts and look forward to seeing running again
Thanks buddy, yes me too, been off road 8 years now
Nice update Dave :) Dark bronze wheels 👌
Thanks Lee, slowly slowly but it'll get there
